Silvio's Brazilian BBQ is Southern California's favorite destination for real, "backyard BBQ" style Brazilian cuisine.

Our Special Events division can be found participating in events within our community as well as throughout parts of Southern California. From Coachella and National AVP Tournaments, to the local street fairs and farmer's markets, Silvio's is thrilled to be THE premier food vendor for authentic Brazilian BBQ. We are proud to say that over 200,000 people first tried Brazilian food at one of our special event appearances.

The special events menu takes it up a few notches from selections typically found at festivals and special events. Specialties include a mesquite grilled tri-tip cooked with rock salt and beer, an incredible BBQ chicken known as "frango de oro" or golden chicken, calabreza (Brazilian sausage); and for the vegetarians, you can't go wrong with the mesquite grilled vegetables. Silvio's takes pride in using the freshest ingredients to make delicious BBQ Plates, Giant BBQ Sandwiches, Farmer's Market Salads, and the World Famous Carnaval Plate. The Super Bowl is right around the corner, February 7th actually. Pier in Hermosa, Dec. 2nd

Has it been a year already? Yes it has and Silvio’s is throwing an anniversary party to celebrate…Brazilian style! “It’s been a little over a year since we opened and we want to throw a great party for our regular customers, family, friends, and vendors” comments Doug Howarth, co-owner of Silvio’s. “Opening on the pier was both a dream come true and, when the economy tanked, an almost living nightmare”. Being the new kid on the block is always a tough hurdle in the small beach town of Hermosa Beach. With most of the competition being owned by local south-bay’ers with local followings, Silvio’s had to depend on their food and service to get them over that hurdle and into the hearts and minds of locals and visitors alike.

“It’s been a tough first year” comments Silvio Correa. The transition from a catering company into the restaurant business is not easy, especially in a high volume area like the pier in Hermosa. The term “long days” took on new meanings for the operating managers. Over the course of the year however, the business thrived. More and more guests stopped in to check us out and more and more guests became friends and regulars. We’re here to stay so watch out South Bay, the kings of BBQ will have lots of surprises over the year to come.

Manhattan Beach, Oct 3rd and 4th

Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ is proudly sponsoring a local charity and a non-profit this year at the annual Hometown fair in downtown Manhattan Beach. The non-profit is the Manhattan Beach Little League and the charity is the Redondo Beach Veterans memorial. This will be the fourth year Silvio’s has been a proud sponsor or various local groups. The event is help at the Valley/Ardmore parks just north of City hall. The event is from 10am-6pm both Saturday and Sunday.

 

Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ chosen as food vendor and potential back-stage caterer at 3-day PHISH Halloween Festival.

Phish, a popular jam-band from Vermont, is performing their annual Halloween show as a part of 3-day music festival in Indio.  The concert/festival, entitled “Festival 8” www.phish.com/festival8/  will be held at the Empire Polo Fields, the same location where the hugely popular Coachella music festival and Stagecoach Country Music Festival are held.

“Phish shows are a great time and the festivals are even better” says Silvio’s owner and certified “phish-head” Doug Howarth.  I’ve been to over 30 Phish shows in my life so to be asked to sell our BBQ at one of their shows let alone some of the back stage catering is a dream come true. 
After a 5-year hiatus, the band started to tour together again this year.  Sometimes described as “the Grateful Dead of Gen-X” Phish has played to audiences world wide.  Along with 11 studio albums, Phish fans are notorious “tapers” and music traders.  The band allows a set amount of fans to bring audio recording equipment into the venue to create live recordings of each and every set they play.  These shows are then traded worldwide.

Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ set to fire up their BBQ’s for the 5th year in a row at the Hermosa Beach AVP volleyball tournament August 7th through the 9th.

What can make a world class event like the Hermosa Beach pro beach volleyball tournament even better?  Brazilian BBQ, that’s what.  With some of the best beach volleyball players in the world hailing from Brazil it was a natural fit for Silvio’s to become a part of the event in both Hermosa and Manhattan Beach.  Eduardo “Anjinho” Bacil, former professional AVP player, currently a coach, and one of the original partners of Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ was the one responsible for the union between the AVP and Silvio’s.  “What’s better to eat on the beach than a Brazilian BBQ” says Bacil. 

Whether it’s their tri-tip grilled with rock salt and beer or their amazing BBQ chicken, Silvio’s definitely gives the spectators and athletes alike a treat they soon won’t forget.  Their menu is simple, comprised of BBQ plates, sandwiches, fresh salads, or just the meat a la carte.  Try out some of the fresh lemonade as well.  It works wonders against the August heat on the beach.
